Whether it powers on and holds a charge
At this age this is most of the value. A working old Galaxy has a buyer who needs a phone. A dead one has parts, which is a much smaller number.
Whether it is locked to an account
The most common problem with an old phone is that nobody remembers the password. A phone still locked to a Samsung or Google account cannot be reset or resold by anyone, so we cannot buy it at any price. Sort that out first.
Battery, which will be poor
Six or seven years of charging. It is not a surprise and it is not held against you.
Screen condition and burn-in
Expect burn-in on anything this old that was used daily. Check on a white background before describing it.
Things that do not disqualify it.
