Your Galaxy S25 is one generation old. That is the good window.

S25, S25+, Ultra, Edge or FE. Still current enough to be wanted, old enough that you have had your use out of it.

One generation back is the sweet spot for selling a Galaxy, and it is a narrower window than people think. An S25 is still fast, still supported, still gets the same Android updates as the newest one, and a second-hand buyer knows all of that. It is the phone people actively search for when the current flagship is out of their budget.

Two generations back, that stops being true. The phone becomes the one people settle for rather than the one they want, and the price follows the demand down. The S25 is on the near side of that line right now.

The S25 line is also unusually wide: the Edge and the FE sit at genuinely different prices to the standard and the Ultra, and lumping them together would cost somebody real money. The calculator prices each of them separately.

Every one of these has two numbers.

What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual device rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.

If you are upgrading, you are not selling. You are part-paying.

The usual move from an S25 is one generation forward, and the gap is small enough that a good trade-in price does most of the work. Price yours first, then decide whether the upgrade is worth what is left to pay.

Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.

The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.

What actually moves the number.

Which S25 it actually is

The spread across this generation is the widest Samsung has shipped. An Ultra and an FE are both an S25 in name and are not remotely the same phone to a buyer. Pick the exact one in the calculator rather than the family.

The screen, and whether it has a green line

Samsung's AMOLED panels are excellent and they are expensive to replace. Anything that has damaged the panel, a crack, burn-in, or the vertical green line that occasionally shows up on Samsung displays, is the largest single subtraction available on this phone.

Battery health after a year of fast charging

Check it under Settings, Battery, Battery health. Anything at 90% or above is unremarkable and priced as normal. Below 85% starts to matter, because that is where a buyer starts budgeting for a replacement.

Box, charger and the S Pen if it had one

The original box and cable are worth a little on their own. On an Ultra, the S Pen is worth more than people expect and is the single most commonly lost item we see, because it lives in the phone until the one day it does not.

Things that do not disqualify it.

Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.

  • Cracked or shattered screen, front or back glass
  • Burn-in or a green line down the AMOLED panel
  • A battery that swells, dies at 30% or will not hold a day
  • Fingerprint sensor under the screen that has stopped reading
  • USB-C port that only charges if you hold the cable just so
  • Camera with dust, haze or a rattling stabiliser
  • Water damage, including phones that dried out and seemed fine
  • Will not switch on at all

Galaxy S25 questions.

Slightly, yes. The Edge is a design statement rather than a spec flagship, and the second-hand market prices battery life and cameras above thinness. It holds up well against anything older than it, it just does not sit where an Ultra sits.
